Currently, Dr. Olson is an assistant professor of Medicine at the Duke Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology, Duke University Medical Center (DUMC)
While at DUMC, Dr. Olson has worked to develop skills and techniques that will allow him to more closely examine the relationship between nursing care and measures of secondary brain injury.
In addition to her role as a full professor at the College of Nursing, University of the Philippines-Manila, Dr. Cora Anonuevo is one of the Philippine Nursing Research Society's board directors and its national treasurer.
She monitors the financial administration of the Society and report to the
Board on its state of financial health. On a more detailed side, she oversees internal management accounts and keeps financial resources so that they are properly controlled and economically spent.
She also manages the Manila office (located at her UPCN Room 330) of the Philippine Nursing Research Society.
Our conference continues to be a truly national conference on nursing researches as we had just concluded our fourth edition at Hotel Stotsenberg, Clark, Pampanga last November 18-19, 2011.
This conference was coordinated by Dr. Al Biag of the College of Nursing, Holy Angel University in Angeles City and ably supported by Dr. Aldrin Darilag, Noriel Calaguas, Jeanneth Sarmiento, Jeannie Maria Idio, Jenalyn San Luis, Gloria Vergara, Lucila Sunga, Karen Amaba, Edwina Basco, Paolo Lumanlan, Wilma Tumalian and Doroteo Dizon
Two hundred eleven delegates coming from Laoag to Zamboanga actively participated in the event.
Notable nursing leaders and researchers were seen in this conference. Among them were: Prof. Lydia Manahan and Dr. Lourdes Tejero (both of UPCN), Dr. Femy Octaviano (TUA), Dr. Grace Bello (WVSU), Prof. Michael Dino (OLUF), Prof. Janelle Castro (UERM), Dr. Yolly Arugay (BON), Dr. Cindy Leigh (ACU), Dr. Mila Llanes (UST), among others.
Interestingly, poster awards through the modest sponsorship of REBC Partnership/Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society went to entries from Far Eastern University (1st Prize), Our Lady of Fatima University (2nd Prize) and West Visayas State University (3rd Prize). The winners brought home certificates, cash awards, publication bursaries, and books.
